TechEDge Program Debuts

TechEDge, the curriculum created through the AZSBDC Technology Program, debuted this week at the City of Chandler’s Innovations Incubator.

The inuagural class is off to a successful start and will continue for ten weeks on Tuesday mornings at Innovations. City of Chandler Economic Development Director Christine MacKay kicked off the class and commended Maricopa SBDC Technology Coordinator Sanjay Dhole and the SBDC for being leaders in providing this training for the City of Chandler and the larger community.

The TechEDge curriculum consists of ten modules, each presented by Subject Matter Experts, and including technology readiness, intellectual property protection, corporate structure, business model development, marketing, business plan development, project management, systems and logistics, finding strategic partners, financial management, operations and risk management, human resources and capital formation.

Marni Patterson has been working under contract for the SBDC to develop the curriculum, coordinate the speakers, and help Sanjay with co-facilitation. She has been a great resource to add to our team, and we appreciate her expertise. Congratulations to everyone involved for a successful launch!

AZSBDC TechEDge Program Debuts Oct. 4

The AZSBDC Network’s new TechEDge program will kick off on October 4 at the City of Chandler’s Innovations Incubator.

The 10-week TechEDge program introduces entrepreneurs to tools to assess their readiness for launch, offers real-time access to resources and assists in uncovering successful pathways to commercialization. Subject matter experts teach modules on key topics. AZSBDC business analysts work with participating clients throughout the program.

Coffee and Connections To Feature Angel Investors

The AZSBDC‘s October 20 Coffee & Connections event will feature a presentation by Jim Goulka, Managing Director of the Arizona Technology Investor Forum (ATIF). The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Innovations Incubator, 145 S. 79th St. in Chandler.

Goulka will talk about the types of projects that his group of 40 investors are interested in funding and how entrepreneurs should communicate with them. ATIF members have a proven record of investment, with more than $5 million invested in 17 companies since 2007.

Goulka will address the concerns entrepreneurs have around raising capital by answering questions about who investors are, how they think about what they invest in and whether they are only looking for the next Facebook, Google or Twitter.

Coffee & Connections is a quarterly event presented by the AZSBDC Network in partnership with the Innovations Incubator.
