SBA Offers Disaster Assistance to Arizona Residents and Businesses Affected by the Monument Fire

Low-interest federal disaster loans are available to Arizona residents and business owners affected by the Monument Fire that began June 12 in Cochise County, U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Karen G. Mills announced today. SBA acted under its own authority to declare Cochise County a disaster following a request received on July 6 from Gov. Janice K. Brewer.

The disaster declaration makes SBA assistance available in Cochise County and the neighboring counties of Graham, Greenlee, Pima and Santa Cruz, as well as the neighboring county of Hidalgo in New Mexico.

Forum to Help Small Businesses Affected By Wallow Fire

Northland Pioneer SBDC will host a Small Business Community Forum from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 27 forĀ area businesses impacted by the Wallow Fire.View the event flyer HERE.

Attendees will learn strategies to survive in the short term and what resources they have access to or will need to move into long term recovery planning.

The free forum will be a question and discovery session. Notes will be taken regarding small business needs and concerns and a second session will be scheduled to bring regional experts and resources to the table to address the topics that business owners identify.

Attendees will also be enrolled on a contact list to receive news and information on recovery resources and programs, as they become available.

This first event is hosted by the Northland Pioneer College Small Business Development Center, the Arizona SBDC Network, the Towns of Eagar and Springerville and Apache County Economic Development.
